Directives

Whatever she's saying, it's being said with feeling.
In either of Canada's two official languages.
The scene: our kitchen.
The player: our daughter.
The occasion: pre-birthday celebration.
And no, we are not about to eat cat food, in case you're wondering about the tin in her hand.

  1. I find it best to simply follow her directives, as they always lead to delicious food.

  5. Saj, The nice but nutty Kiwi aunt! Goes nicely with her nice Kiwi adoptive mum (I think you've got it over her in the nutty dept). Great to have lots of relatives to stay with when visiting NZ!

If you want a drink around here, you better be pretty quick. Every time I turned around the bottle was empty.

  6. C,
You might want to be very nice with your Kiwi aunty as she is a well-known mixologist!

  8. Thank you, Patricia! The pre-celebration was really the celebration, but I think there may be a bit more coming my way.

  9. A photography one could nearly "hear" - still trying to figure out what she was saying, as her mouth is nearly as much a detail as her hand pointing.
Please have you all a wonderful celebration and a nice Friday as well.

  10. Hi Robert,
It looks like she's saying "You!--go sit in the corner!" But that is far too dictatorial and harsh for my daughter to say. So I guess we'll never know. I just like the action contrasted with the stillness. And showing off my daughter and kitchen on my blog.
    :-)
I will do my best to continue having a wonderful celebration this weekend. May you find cause for celebration as well!

  12. Thanks for that shout out, Saj!

Blogger is drinking your posts due to the high alcohol content.

    WV: "naess"
That was very naess of the Sagittarian to wish her blog sister a happy birthday, even if she shouted it.
