I extend my apologies from the bottom of my glass heart to those dear blog friends who so kindly left me farewell messages and welcome back notes and where-the-hell-are-you SOS's in these past few days. I have, indeed, burrowed back into the bosom of the hills in which I live and am enjoying lazing about on the decrepit wicker, making an occasional foray to the beach, or town, or even an island. I do have some photos to share and am working on getting them ready. I apologise for posting my mug here but it's to toast my blog friends and ask you all over for a refreshing drink while you're waiting for me to pop up with something a little tastier.
Back very soon--I promise!
Cheers!
Hey - it's summer! No apologies needed.
ReplyDeleteSkol!
ReplyDeleteYou never need to apologize to friends. Enjoy, relax and think of us suffering in the southern heat!!
ReplyDeleteOh what a joy - can't even remember last time holding a Guinness ...
ReplyDeletePlease have a wonderful Sunday you all.
looks like a Guiness - right on!
ReplyDeletecheers :)
My gosh, that's one BIG beer... well, enjoy it, and take your time drinking it, in fact, can you order another couple for Saj and I, once we find the way out of your (empty) booze basement, we'll be right over !
ReplyDeleteI'm with Bonnie. No apologies required. Just enjoy your summer. You're not the only one keeping a lower blog profile. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you'll be back soon, for a moment I thought you were going to disappear! If life is a wave then the next crest is always in sight,if we stay with the flow......well,that's my theory today! Enjoy the summer!
ReplyDeleteThe reason I asked about bears was that I had a dream in which I was visiting a residential art centre in Canada. You appeared to be participating in some way, possibly teaching.Behind the chalets was a coniferous forest where bears lived.
Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. Summer certainly has been along time coming and is still "iffy" around here.
DCW,
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your brought your trusty "water bottle" along!
Patricia,
ReplyDeleteI think I will embroider that on a pillow cover ("you never need to apologise to friends")! I'll do my best to keep cool up here on your behalf, to take some of the heat off you. Not too hard today, really. Come on over if you need to chill.
Robert,
ReplyDeleteDo they not serve Guinness in Greece? Or have you given up your bad habits...some of them, anyway? I hope you're enjoying summer with your lad.
Manuela,
ReplyDeleteWell spotted! I don't have one often and it's always a treat when I do. It was on tap at this restaurant so how could I resist!
Owen,
ReplyDeleteA glass of beer that's bigger than the size of my head! You'll have to send me your noggin measurements so that I can order you one in the appropriate size. May you wear it well. Saj looks good in anything she drinks and always orders the XXX size.
Hilary,
ReplyDeleteHilary,
It's great to have such understanding blog friends! I know you understand how necessary it is to grab hold of the brief vestiges of summer in this northern clime. Are you being hit with a heat wave in your neck of the woods? Our summer has not been outstanding...late in arriving, and still toying with us. Enjoy the sun!
Forest Dream,
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm like the cat in the song, I always come back to my blogs...eventually. Just having a momentary dip in the wave of enthusiasm (esp.when confronted with the option of being outdoors in the sun rather than at my computer) but as you say, am on my way up to the next crest in sight.
What an interesting dream you had, involving me! It sounds like the venue would be at the arts centre in Banff Alberta, though highly unlikely I would ever teach there. Hmmm...perhaps I should look into this.
After a beer that size, I'd need a break too. That is so funny. It could be part of your exercise routine! Looks and sounds like you are having a great summer. Now, bottoms up!
ReplyDeleteStickup,
ReplyDeleteMy motto is "Never drink a glass of beer that is smaller than your head." This could explain the pain I've been experiencing in my right elbow of late. I thought it might be Blogger's Elbow or Knitter's Elbow but I guess it could well be Stout Elbow...well, it's certainly ALE-ing me, at any rate.
Lovely to see you again! Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteAudrey,
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you, too! I have some pix up my sleeve, but seem to be having a bout of "tennis elbow" up there as well, which is slowing down my computer activity. sigh.
Happy to see you enjoying a Guinness - my favourite!
ReplyDeleteDriftwood,
ReplyDeleteEven more so than G&T? Apples and oranges, no doubt. To every beverage, there is a reason.
Oh thats a small beer by our standards! (:-)....glad you're back. It was getting a bit whiffy in the basement once Big BrOwen took his socks off to strain the last of the wine///
ReplyDeleteSaj,
ReplyDeleteCome on out into the air and join me in a little paté de foie gras in the next posting. Isn't it just like our brother to be sucking his socks!
and my apologies for being too late for this feast :-), but i have also been rather silent in the blogging world recently, i don't even have much hope to be able to catch up with everything because i will continue to be so busy for some time now... but, there is something so kind and playful and warm in that look of yours here that i am sure you understand and always have a glass for me to spare as well, no matter the delay :-)
ReplyDeleteAh, Roxana,
ReplyDeleteAlways lovely to see you and, as they say, "better late than never." Besides, is there a time limit in the blogworld? Good friends stay friends and pick up the conversation after years apart as if they were together only yesterday, don't you find?
Drink up: You must be thirsty from all that busy-ness!
A glass of beer as big as your head….. way to go, where can I get one??/
ReplyDeleteGary
Gary,
ReplyDeleteCome on down to the east coast, where we'll treat you right! What did you say your head size is?
