The lemons around the golf of Naples and the Golf of Salerno, especially Amalfi, are much larger than what I know from other areas and almost sweet when ripe.
Drinking lemonata made with nothing but those lemons and water is sheer heaven. No sugar needed!
The lemon trees growing all over Calabria, even by the city streets of Tropea, constantly amazed and delighted us. Our introduction to well-chilled Limoncelo was also delightful: Not quite your average lemonade!
