Sunday Paper

Strolling down Main Street in the village where I live, I noticed the little, unused building that sometimes houses antiques for sale had its windows covered with newspaper. Finding this interesting, I stopped to take a photo, and discovered the big Baptist church across the street had made the first page!

  1. Yep, that's a keeper ! May be one of your best to date... yeah, I really like this one alot, used cars for sale in the bargain yard and the Baptist church overshadowing it all, a crossword puzzle too (heh heh, cross-word...), good stuff... chapeau, as they say in these parts...

And my WV is "fabiscl", like, that is such a fabiscl photo, bravo !

  5. See, another reason why one should never leave home without one's camera! Great photo, of course.

  7. Hi Saj, In fact, I had almost not brought my camera with me but then I decided to make a point of looking for things "worth" capturing digitially. I was trying to ease back into my life in the village after being away in the big city. Looking for the little things that make this place special in some way, shape, or form. A lucky find.

  8. In a negative or positive way? Was the building's owner making a statement pro or con? That's a cool story!
Lynne, I couldn't help thinking that that building with its layers might be a start to one of your projects. A lot of texture and dimension.
    Glad you're back! xxox

  9. Hi Margaret, I don't think the building's owner was making any kind of statement. He'd just covered the windows with newspaper to keep people peering in I guess.

I hadn't thought of the photo of the building being similar to one of my paintings, but it's so true! Must be a sign that I should get back to painting.

Having some unseasonably warm weather here is helping ease the transition from west to east.
Thanks for the welcome home! xo

  12. Nice catch, Jacqueline, it is reminiscent of my recent work. I think, however, this one can stand alone in its photographic "purity".
