Fog March

A neighbourhood walk in late afternoon took me past a park lined with low-lying fog.

The playground installations stood out in colourful relief against the fog-softened forest backdrop.

Undeterred by the damp chill, a man and a boy enjoyed some afternoon fun in the foggy foggy dew...

while their canine companion doggedly retrieved a Frisbee from somewhere within the foggy depths.

These days, so close to the solstice, if you turn your back for just a moment in mid-afternoon, the sun suddenly begins to set.

Time to leave the park to the trees and the fog...

and the final kiss of this day's sunlight.

    1. Fog lends a headstart to an intriguing photo: Changes the familiar world into a realm of mystery. I am so glad you like my take on it in these everyday-slices-of-life pictures.

  3. winter fog??? but everything looks so green, still, i would say mid-autumn, judging from this atmosphere... here everything is now gray, fog would make it black and white :-)

    such a lovely mood!

    1. Yes, winter fog! And everything stays pretty much green...all those evergreen trees...all winter. Though the skies can be very grey and the greens are a green-grey and there is not a lot of sunshine here on the wet west coast in the winter.
You will have to wear brightly coloured clothes, Roxana, to bring colour into that greyness you speak of.

    1. It was, indeed, a splendid day to go out walking with my camera! You should see the pix I got of the mist in the woods. Well, you will, by and by...(one of these days/weeks/months/years...you know how it goes).
      ;-)
"A hazy shade of winter"--love that! Might have to borrow it sometime...

  5. "The fog comes on little cat feet." Or dog. Wonderfully evocative shots, Lynne! I keep hoping for some morning fog here, but no luck so far...

    1. "Little cat feet" is one of my all-time favourite poetic descriptions for fog creeping in. Sicilian fog must have a lovely accent, all its own.

  6. Beautiful photos Lynne, especially the last two. It's very interesting the way the sinking sun creates an afternoon twilight world.

    1. Thank you, Ruby! What a wonderfully poetic phrase, "an afternoon twilight world." Sounds like an alternate universe that would be a lovely place to inhabit.

  7. Maybe that's exactly what we do inhabit at this time of year !!!
