Cause for Celebration

Doesn't it feel good to accomplish a long dreamed of goal?  Really, I'm not one for setting goals, let alone reaching them, so when something like that happens in my life, it's cause for celebration.  Just a little private partying when I get home.

In spite of all the city scenes I love to post on my blog, I actually live in a rural setting, so when I get home,
it looks like this (note: those are not my boots.  But I have a similar pair. )

Okay, the scene is set.  But something's missing...

A little bit of bubbly.  Not the real French stuff.  That would cost too much and make me feel guilty.  Besides, it would be too high falutin' to drink in these parts.

Oh my goodness, can the bottle be empty already?!  And no more potato chips to boot?!

Let's look a little deeper into the situation...

To see just why I'm celebrating, please pay a visit HERE.

(I must admit, I'm feeling a bit like a barefoot contessa. Yes, you can put your feet up on the table here!)

  1. That's SO cool. I wish you tons of luck.

I had some Barefoot Bubbly last week for the first time. I dislike most sparkling wines but I quite enjoyed this.

    1. Hilary,
It does go down easy, doesn't it? I was hesitant about the 02 level of sweetness, but the numbers on the price tag convinced me.

  2. Congratulations on your exhibit - AND - your wonderfully unique artwork! I jumped over just to take a peek, and will return to your gallery and peruse some more :) I send you a toast from here! Salute! (My Italian is worse than my French :)

    1. MM,
My Italian is almost non-existent as well. I crammed just enough vocab into my brain to last me through my visit to Calabria, but the words have since been deleted, or rusted out from lack of use. "Salute!" was always my grandfather's preferred toast in Italian.

    1. jannina,
Thanks for taking a little tour of My Calabria. I almost got to Sicily on that trip, but the trains were on strike the day we wanted to get to Reggio to get the boat over. I think I will have to try again some day...maybe gather inspiration for a new series called La Mia Sicilia?

My goodness, you do get around to interesting places! I'm glad you had the time to stop by my little celebration and art show. I'll look forward to seeing unusually muted colours on your blog during the summer.

    1. Robert,
Thank you so much. It really does feel like an achievement. Good to have that feeling every so often. Also good to wear gumboots and go splashing about in puddles from time to time. I guess there's not much opportunity for that in Athens.

I'm surprised you didn't come running at the sound of that popping cork! Perhaps you should consider getting your ears checked.

Oh, I love Prosecco. Had it the first time, in fact, in Calabria. I'm so pleased that you had a little tour of my online show and signed the guest book.

    1. Elizabeth redux,
Yes, I got rid of it when I found I couldn't decipher it on other blogs. What's a little spam from time to time? Ironic that people have to prove they're not robots by reading robot-generated gobbly-gook.

  13. Oh my! What a tremendous accomplishment, well deserved for your artistry and talent, not to mention all the work it took putting this together.

I know that you will have many friends (and admirers) gathered for your gallery opening, the vernisage, but just know that you will have many virtual friends who will raise a glass that day in your honor... salut!

  14. Think I should knit a tote bag with the words "Mother of the Artist" embroidered thereon. Good Show, Lynne.

    1. Shirl,
You forgot "proud"..."Proud Mother of the Artist"! Maybe you could knit me a beret to wear to the vernissage while you're at it.

  15. What ? You drank all the bubbly before I got there ???

Am going to stamp my foot and hold my breath until a rich violet color ensues !

Ah, but maybe you have a second bottle tucked away somewhere for the late arrivals ???

    1. BrOwen,
Oh boy, you and Saj both! Sheesh. You can both go stomping off to your rooms and pout to your hearts' content but the bubbly's all gone. Like the cookie that crumbles, that's the way the faux-champagne cork pops.

Thank you! I haven't tried the Moscato, no. I think I've sampled other Barefoot bottles but can't recall. It's certainly a good value wine.
