scenes seen through one artist's eyes
Ah, she's adorable... Did you take her home with you ? I hear alot of animals are being abandoned in America, is the same happening in Canada ? Don't you love how kitties sort of rear up to meet a hand descending to pat them ? And the curve captured at the end of that tail... truly poetry in motion. What I'd give to know what goes on in those little brains of theirs... a big affection lobe in there, right next to the "leave me alone I can't be bothered" lobe... Looks like a sweetheart, anyway... Love the tension in that outstretched paw too, almost ready to reach out and scratch something if not enough attention is given...
BrOwen,A toad who loves cats. Excellent combination. You noticed all those endearing things about this charmer that captivated me as well (paw tensed and expanded in ecstacy, love message being signalled by the tip of her tail, head reaching up to meet the curve of the descending hand). What you couldn't see were her David Bowie eyes of 2 different colours. You also perfectly described the cattitude lobe (I may have that myself, actually). My cat will sometimes actually nip my hand after practically begging for a pat. A love bite?I haven't heard of a rise in animals being abandonned in Canada...but it's a big country and I live in a tiny corner of it where there are still barns to hide in and rodents and birds to feast on. Winters are another question, though. Well, enough about me...I'm not sure just how the cats might survive out there.:-D
That is such a cute shot--white on yellow with all those stripes. And with her two paws in the air!
jann,Thanks! It was almost a Beatrix Potter scene. Miss Kitteh just needed a bonnet and a parasol to complete the look. I love it when cats stand up on their back legs to get a better look at things, or stretch into an oncoming caress.
Great shot, I reckon white cats are quite hard to get photos of (and balck ones too come to think of it), all the good observations have been relayed. I must get to these parties faster!!
Saj, These parties aren't over until the Sagittarian sings! Or shows up with a bucket of drinks. Or both.:-)
I'd have 'rovked' by sooner but have been laid up with a damn virus whihc has affected my balance (and all the previous experience with being unbalanced hasn't helped!!)...plus we have had a few more BIG aftershocks to deal with, I feel permanently at sea!
Saj,What a time, and not a good time, you're having. That you're still having big aftershocks is nothing short of ... shocking. Poor bebby with a bad virus on top of all else that's been shaking in your world. But summer is on its way, right? Listen, you don't need to sing tonight, okay? I'll make you a nice cup of our maritimes' King Cole tea to go with that bottle of whisky you're clutching. Just wrap yourself up in this shawl and I'll be right back.
What a beautiful and soft moment shared. Great picture indeed, and a further proof that cats are poetry. Please have a good start into your weekend. Thank you as well for your much appreciated comments.daily athens
What a little beauty and I'm sure she knows it. I think she wanted to be picked up and cuddled.
Perhaps Shirl is referring to me? This shawl is very puuurty...
Robert,It was a beautiful soft moment, made all the more special because it was completely unexpected--and free.Poetry in motion, right on.
Shirl,I think you're right about her knowing her own beauty, probably as a result of being petted and fussed over so much. Reminds me of the line in a song from Cats "If you touch me you'll understand what happiness is."
ah saj,You little beauty, do you want to be picked up and cuddled, too? Maybe our brother can help with that. Just don't accept if he offers you a nice cozy jacket to slip over your shoulders (you know where he works!)
Do you think she's put there to entice customers to hang about for a while until the shop reopens?
Madame DeFarge, How ironic: a cat being used as a cat's paw.cat's-pawn1. a person used by another as a tool; dupeYou clearly know all the angles.
Cuddling and massages and slipping jackets on or off are right up my alley... or singing a few tunes while strumming a six string... Hope those shocking after shocks will calm down soon, and balance will return to normal, and cats will be purring along smoothly...
Ah, Owen,Some brotherly love for our dear sister Saj. How sweet it is.:-)
