Nosey Parker

Fish Gate (do not confuse with Water Gate)

Crocuses coming up in thyme for spring.

This is the type of snow drop that I like.
The weather is finally getting warm so I took a stroll over to my neighbours' yard to see what progress spring has been making while I wasn't looking.

When I was a kid, we called a person who tended to snoop a "Nosey Parker." I don't know why. Maybe our neighbours' last name was Parker and they had a habit of strolling into our yard to see what was happening.

Duck Down the Alley Way

Montreal has some magical alleys. Maybe some day one will be what I call my own back yard. Is this what I really wish for?

Bagelriffic!

Say what you will, I love a genuine Montreal bagel. There are those who hold out for the real Toronto deal, and others who swear by a New York bagel, but give me that sweet Montreal style any time. There's not much I'm willing to line up for, but bagels from the St-Viateur Bagel Shop in Montreal--yessir!

La Belle Thailandaise

La Belle Thailandaise furnished 4 hungry people with 4 different dishes of succulent, tasty, filling, exciting suppers at surprisingly reasonable prices. I can't wait to go back to try something different! I do believe my former flirtation with Thai food has blossomed into a full-blown love-affair! Plus, it's bring your own wine; life is so civilised in Montréal.

To Market, To Market, Montreal Style

Line up for sustenance...what shall it be?

Make way, make way...vegetable man coming through!

Easter treats all in a row.

Tis the season for yellow snow!

Quebec sweets.

Vive le Québec!

I was missing in action from my blog last week--the action being an impromptu road trip to Quebec for a family Easter! But I brought back lots of images to share.

Toujours le chateau Frontenac.

A patriotic pope uncharacteristically waving the Canadian flag in la belle province?!

This way...

Urban indecision, not to be confused with urban decay.

The charming mix of old and new always delights me.

Nellie has a well-deserved rest; not many tourists yet.

Green light go... no time to stop and shop!

The gate to Quebec City is wide open and welcoming.

One of our traditional pit stops on our way from New Brunswick to Quebec. Good thing we weren't planning to picnic!

Is the warning for the driver or the moose?

Not Niagara, but not bad.

Vitamin C with Kick

Anyone for a little spring tonic?

Mistelot

Grey's Island, as seen from my bedroom window, rising from a sea of snow before it completely disappeared in the mist.

Bird Brains

The robins are out, digging for worms in the soggy wet yellow stuff that was once, and will be again, grass. When I step outside in the morning, other birds sing out, "Hello Sweetie!" The birds obviously know something that I've been unaware of--it really is spring!
(obviously not my photo!)
