Down the Road A Piece

A scenic Sunday drive to the Hopewell Rocks.

Village Walk

A local B&B optimistically advertises spring while woodpiles linger and nature quietly waits.

I'm So Excited!

C. has procured us tickets for Exit the King in NYC this May! Hopefully, they'll be selling crowns like Susan Sarandon's at the souvenir stands in the lobby. Although, I must admit I was terribly disappointed at a Loreena McKennit concert that C. treated me to in Montreal that there were no LM wigs to be found for love or money on the premises. Definitely a marketing miss on the part of Ms McKennit's team.

Spoke Too Soon

(See my Sunday 22/03 post...) Just when I thought things couldn't get worse, this is what I woke up to this morning.

Really Put My Foot In It

My foot is down there somewhere.

Schmos Viewed From a Window

These poor schmos were huddled out behind the local call-centre trying to have a smoke on their coffee break this morning.

Lost My Buttons

Today I lost a button from my boot and a button from my glove. Both from the right side. Right side = creativity/the feminine. Also, I saw two pennies on the ground but did not pick them up because they were mucky, thus risking the bad luck that might befall me. Two lucky pennies ignored, two buttons lost.
Significant?

Fleck off!

See those nasty flecks falling from the sky again? So enough already!
The studio window here looks onto the back of our property. In spite of all those big trees you see, we are nearly out of firewood. Pierre has what is probably the last fire of the season going in the basement woodstove--unless we take to chopping up our kitchen chairs.

à l'autre bout du monde

Sometimes I wish that I was, indeed, at the other end of the world--where it isn't snowing!

Rust Bunnies

Rust never sleeps in my studio:
It just lies there patiently awaiting my ministrations.
Dream on, little rust bunnies, dream on!

Happy Spring!

Salud! Cheers!
Santé!

Subtle Signs of Spring

Maybe not quite time to bring out the picnic fare?

Perhaps a tad premature?

Picket fence with beige snow.
Almost like walking on the dunes in PEI--though, of course, we wouldn't because it's not allowed.

Mother Nature's popsicles
(not to be confused with the thawing poopsicles).

Bathroom Wall Plant Graffitti

This One's for Cléa (but you can listen, too!)

Welcome back!

Sunday Brunch

Venison, anyone?
Pierre went out in his pj's to capture this moment. I wish I'd been able to get a photo of him in action to post on my blog. Try to imagine Brad Pitt out in the snow wearing jockey shorts and work boots. Pierre doesn't look like that but isn't it a great image to have in your head?

Snow Blossoms

This is for my smug friends in Vancouver who will be bragging about the cherry blossoms any day now.

This Morning's View

Lying in bed this morning I heard the snow ploughs passing. Oh no, not again, I thought. But yes, again again and evermore. The snow.

Colour Therapy

One bright spot in an otherwise dull winter. And, yes, the coffee table is made from a door, thanks to my crafty (in more ways than one) neighbour.

Folksy

Here's a little neo-folksy corner of the kitchen. I actually coined the phrase "neo-folk artist" when I first exhibited my Maritimes Series back in 1993. Recently, I was amused to find it earnestly applied to another NB artist as if it were an authentic appellation for a style of art! Too bad I didn't copyright it.

Big Cozy

Never mind about spilling your wine when you sit here! In real life, this chair is a shade of puce that I've always hated, but thanks to Photoshop I can now enjoy it in a lovely shade of grape (not one of my favourite flavours, either).

Morning Visit

We had 7 or 8 deer nibbling on the branches out back of our house this morning. It was funny to watch them skate away on the glazed snow. Possibly they thought it just as funny to watch me timidly pick my way down our iced driveway on my way to work.

On The Rocks

Tonight's Weather Forecast:
Light Ice Pellets
Call me crazy but,it seems to me that ice pellets should be something one might expect to find in one's drink rather than experience as weather falling from the sky!
